VINTAGE PRINTS

Original silver gelatin prints personally produced, signed, annotated and hand finished by Joseph McKenzie at, or close to, the time the original negative was produced. Vintage prints are extremely rare and of particular historical significance.

LIFETIME PRINTS

Original silver gelatin prints personally produced, signed, annotated and hand finished by Joseph McKenzie during his lifetime. Printed at different periods throughout his career, each reflects McKenzie’s individual approach to the photographic print and utilizing the latest materials.

EDITIONS

Posthumous editions produced from the Joseph McKenzie Archive. All editions are strictly limited to five prints of each image. Prints may be produced to order and may therefore not be immediately available and all come with Certificates of Authentication.

COLOUR

Joseph McKenzie personally processed and experimented with colour film in his earlier lifetime but, without the facilities to print in colour, never produced colour prints. These editions offer the unique opportunity to acquire his colour photography in print for the first time.

SILVER GELATIN

Produced from selected images for which original prints do not exist or survive only in very limited numbers within the Archive. These editions make otherwise rarely available works accessible while retaining the traditional silver gelatin process.

PLATINUM

Joseph McKenzie never printed in platinum, although the permanence and longevity of the photographic print were of considerable importance to him. Platinum provides exceptional stability and permanence, bringing selected images from the Archive to a medium particularly sympathetic to those concerns.
